Eurojackpot: wheeling systems with a guarantee
A full system plays every combination of your numbers – with 12 numbers in Eurojackpot, that is already 792 lines. A reduced system plays only part of them but guarantees: if b of your numbers are drawn, at least one line has a matches. The calculator builds the system in your browser and checks the guarantee exhaustively.
Important: a reduced system does not change the probability that your numbers are drawn. It only spreads the matching numbers better across fewer lines. Each line keeps the same chance and the same negative expected value.
How it works
You pick more numbers than a line contains (e.g. 12). The abbreviated wheel spreads them over a few lines so that a guarantee applies: if enough of your numbers are drawn, at least one line has a certain number of matches.
Example
Guarantee "3 if 4": if 4 of your chosen numbers are among the winning numbers, at least one line contains 3 matches.
Limitations
The guarantee only applies if your chosen numbers are drawn. Every line has the same negative expected value; a wheel only spreads wins more evenly.
