How is LOTTO 6aus49 played?
A line consists of 6 numbers from 1 to 49. In addition there is the Superzahl from 0 to 9: it is the last digit of the play-slip number and applies to all lines on the slip. Draws are on Wednesday at 18:25 and Saturday at 19:25 (German time). You win from 2 matches + Superzahl.
How much does a line cost?
€1.20 per line, plus a handling fee per slip set by each regional lottery company. The add-on lotteries Spiel 77 (€2.50) and SUPER 6 (€1.25) are optional.
Can I play from abroad?
LOTTO 6aus49 is sold to players in Germany through the licensed regional lottery companies. This site does not sell tickets.
What was the additional number?
Until 4 May 2013 a seventh number (Zusatzzahl) was drawn. Since then only the Superzahl decides the tiers; our statistics therefore start on that date, while the archive goes back to 1955.

What is the compulsory payout?
If tier 1 has no winner for twelve draws in a row, the jackpot is paid out in the 13th draw to the next lower tier with winners.
Are winnings taxed?
Lottery winnings are tax-free in Germany; only later income from them (e.g. interest) is taxable.
